Diana Hunter
Chair of the Board
Diana is a C-suite Business Leader and Non-Executive Director with a proven track record spearheading strategic and commercial growth and sustainable transformational change in multibillion pound global private retail and consumer businesses. In her executive career Diana worked for J Sainsbury plc and the John Lewis Partnership. Diana believes that working together we can drive the sport forward, harnessing the power of the community to create this change.
Craig Anthony
Non-Executive Director
Craig Anthony is a sports development professional with over 15 years of experience. As CEO at British Wrestling, Craig has overseen a 279% increase in clubs, secured increased investment, and completed a renovation of the British Wrestling Academy. His previous roles include Head of Development at British Orienteering and NGB Development Manager for GreaterSport.
James Burton
Non-Executive Director
James is an operations and marketing specialist, Chair of British Obstacle Sports, and runs his own consultancy. Prior to this James spent 12 years as Executive Director of Client Operations at leading design and innovation agency, AKQA. James has strong commercial, planning and forecasting skills, aligned with a passion for sport and getting people active.
Sam Curry
Athletes’ representative and member of the UIPM Athletes Committee
After 20 years of in pentathlon and 12 years of competing on the senior circuit, Sam is now keen to give his perspective on athlete development and is excited to grow the sport further. He is able to give insight and knowledge of the international community, performance development and pathway understanding within pentathlon. Sam is eager to give back to the sport that gave him so much.
Emma Dowden
Senior Independent Director and Chair of the HR Committee and Nominations Committee
Emma has been Chief Operating Officer of Burges Salmon for 17 years, also sitting on the board. She brings a wealth of experience across people leadership, operations, legal, programme management and transformational change, budget management and procurement Emma can often be found at event sidelines as her two children are both modern pentathletes.
David Langridge
Chair of the Commercial Working Group
David was Global Marketing Director for Fitness First prior to setting up his own digital and content marketing agency specifically focused on the sports and fitness sector. David brings his marketing and commercial skills to the board, supporting the business in finding new revenue streams in order to safeguard the future of the sport. A crucial part of our strategy is to improve how we market the sport, and David will help drive this on a strategic level.
Claire Maclellan
Non-Executive Director
Claire was previously the Chief Growth Officer and President of Future US at Future Plc. Claire brings expertise in diversification strategies, growth planning and M&A which is vital for a sport with an opportunity to captialise on a new format, such as Modern Pentathlon.
John Mayock
Non-Executive Director
John spent 8 years as Director at INEOS in the Wellbeing and Charities sector. One of the key projects that John was pivotal in developing was The Daily Mile charitable Foundation. John is now consulting in sports marketing and commercial partnerships. With his background, John is ideally placed to support our efforts to make a difference, as well as increase our commercial acumen.
Andrew Price
Deputy Chair and Chair of the Finance Committee
Andrew is an FCA qualified Finance Director with a strong background in commercial finance. As the sport aims to capitalise on the opportunity of the next four years, Andrew's financial & commercial acumen will be invaluable.
Nicola Robinson
Member of the PGB International Relations Working Group & the UIPM Para Commission
Nic is the programme leader in sports coaching at Liverpool John Moores University. Nic has championed Para sport on behalf on Pentathlon GB, successfully ensuring its inclusion at the 2023 Bath World Championships and subsequently its inclusion in the 2025 Invictus Games. Inclusivity is an area Nic is passionate about, and will look to champion as part of our board.
Mike Townley
Chair of the Governance & Risk Committee & Safeguarding lead
Mike is a leading sport lawyer with over 30 years' industry experience. Mike has worked with many NGBs over the years, along with various International Federations. Mike worked with the Sports Councils during the 1990s to help set up the lottery investment programme into sport, in particular the World Class Performance model. Mike spent almost 10 years working with the International Paralympic Committee and was lead lawyer at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
