2017 motoreasy GB Biathle Series officially launched
Pentathlon GB are pleased to officially announce the launch of the 2017 motoreasy GB Biathle Series. The GB Biathle Series has proved extremely popular in the past and this year’s series sponsored by motoreasy will follow the same format with 6 events being held around the UK from April to September. Biathle sees athletes competing in a continuous run-swim-run format with distances varying between age groups.
As part of the launch, we are also delighted to announce that motoreasy will be this year’s GB Biathle Series title sponsor.
motoreasy are a team of motoring experts who make owning and maintaining a car – or your life – hassle-free. In addition to providing car warranties with the best combination of price and cover, the company provides car service and MOT plans and assistance with any car repairs that will make a serious dent into motoring costs.
motoreasy founder Duncan McClure Fisher has huge experience in the motoring industry, helping more than 500,000 drivers find valuable motoring products that have protected them from heavy bills since the mid-nineties.
It means you can enjoy the assistance and protection of a personal motoreasy technician, who arranges any required work, makes sure workshop visits are as convenient as possible and negotiates on your behalf to ensure that you get the best prices and save money. Their independently approved network of 10,000 repairers stretches across every corner of the UK so help is never far away. motoreasy can even arrange for the collection and return of your vehicle from either home or work.
Duncan McClure Fisher, founder of motoreasy, said: “Biathle is a thoroughly modern sport, which fits with our philosophy at motoreasy. Modern motorists don’t have the time or the inclination to deal with the hassle generated by maintaining their cars so we are in the business of removing that burden from them, leaving them more time to focus on more engaging activities like sporting endeavours.”
The first event of the 2017 motoreasy GB Biathle Series will be held in Cheltenham on Sunday April 30th with entries closing today (April 4th). This will also be the GB selection event for the 2017 European Championships to be held in Portugal from 14th-16th July.
The remaining five events of the series will be held at Allerthorpe Lake, near York on June 10th, Hartlepool Marina on July 2nd, Salford Quays on July 30th Edge Hill University, Ormskirk on September 3rd and Weymouth on September 9th.
The event at Allerthorpe will also form part of the 2017 Yorkshire Biathle Club Series with the 4th race of the GB series coinciding with the 2017 British Biathle Championships at Salford Quays. This will also be the qualifier for the Biathle World Championships in October, with the location to be confirmed shortly by the UIPM.
Pentathlon GB’s Biathle Director Howard Jones said “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to continue the GB Biathle Series thanks to motoreasy’s support. We always have a large number of people competing across the 6 events so it’s great to be able to give them the chance to continue competing in the exciting sport of Biathle in the UK.
“It is also fantastic that we’ve been able to tie our events in with 3 of our most supportive clubs once again – Yorkshire Biathle Club (Allerthorpe), North West Biathle Hub (Edge Hill) and Leweston Pentathlon Academy (Weymouth).”
Results from all 6 events will go on the Pentathlon GB website and at the culmination of the 2017 motoreasy GB Biathle series, a ranking list will be produced based on the points scored in each of the six events. An individual’s top 4 scores will count towards the ranking list with the top 6 athletes in each age group from Youth E to Masters D will be awarded a prize.
Entry forms and further event details for all six events can be found on the Pentathlon GB website calendar.
