• French & Cooke Claim National Ranking Competition 1 Honours

    Kate French and Jamie Cooke opened their 2016 seasons with victory in the first National Ranking Competition held at the University of Bath’s Sports Training Village, Pentathlon GB’s National Training Centre. French put in a commanding performance throughout the day to comfortably win the Women’s competition with Freyja Prentice coming 2nd and Georgina Summers securing 3rd. Meanwhile, Cooke exchanged places twice on the final lap as he edged out Sam Curry into 2nd place with Joe Evans coming home in third in the Men’s.

    On 30th September, after offering my services to the Board, I re-joined the world of full time employment as interim PGB CEO pending the permanent appointment of our new CEO. This was a bit of a shock to the system after a summer of walking in the Yorkshire Dales, gardening and going to cricket matches.

    At Saturday’s AGM the meeting received reports from its officers including our accounts and a report from our Performance Director, Jan Bartu. We wished the Performance Team every success for the Olympics in Rio 2016. The meeting reappointed HaysMacIntyre as our auditors and resolved to update our Articles of Association.
