British Universities Competition – Help Required posted by Peter Hart on19-02-2010

The organiser of the BUCS Modern Pentathlon competition at Oxford sports centre on March 12 and 13 this year is looking for volunteers to help with various events. In particular, with judging on the run/shoot discipline.

The run/shoot is due to start at 8.30am on Saturday March 13, the organisers will need people who are available from about 8am.

Schools Biathlon Finals Moved to New Venue posted by Skip Peacey on25-01-2010

Due to bad weather causing an overrun on building work at Aldershot, the 2010 Schools Biathlon Finals have now been moved to Crystal Palace, London.

The date of the event - Sunday 21 March - remains unchanged.

Details regarding Qualifiers and Finals Entry Forms will be available shortly - please keep an eye on the 'Schools' tab for further information.

BUC's Modern Pentathlon & Biathlon posted by Skip Peacey on25-01-2010

The 2010 British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Modern Pentathlon & Biathlon will take place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 March. It is open to any student athletes.

The ride event will be held on Friday evening at Blewbury Riding Stables, Blewbury. The remaining events will be held at Oxford University Sports Centre on Saturday 13 March. The competition will operate under the new Pentathlon GB rules, including a run/shoot phase.

The biathlon competition will be held on Saturday afternoon.

Entry closing date is 26 Feb 2010 but spaces are limited to 80 pentathletes so make sure you don't delay!

Entries will not be accepted without a current Pentathlon GB membership and full payment of the entry fee:

Dubai Biathle World Tour - Entry Details posted by Howard Jones on20-01-2010

We have now received the entry details for the first of the 2010 Biathle World Tour events in Dubai on 6th March. The entries are due in by 1st February and the final closing date of 9th February.

Entry fee is £55 to include Commemorative T shirt and closing Dinner / Party and forms will be available on the calendar of events shortly.

Special rate accommodation is available at the venue - Le Meridian Hotel, Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina.

This will be the venue for the World Biathle Championships on 30th October - so get a head start by trying this event!

Bath 5 Pentathlon/Pony Club Training Weekend posted by on15-10-2009

Bath5 Modern Pentathlon Club is running training days for Pony Club members, on Saturday 14th November and Sunday 15th November, to introduce athletes to the Pentathlon and help develop existing skills. During the day we will also provide you with training and competition connections within the area you live in for you to continue your training back at home.

The club was set up to offer the chance for anyone, from beginner to seasoned athlete, to take up the sport of Modern Pentathlon. So we have planned the weekend to help athletes make the most of the training:

•Saturday 14th November - for all Pony Club members who competed in the 2009 Inter-Regional Championships in Scotland or the National Tetrathlon Championships at Hartpury
•Sunday 15th November - for all Pony Club members, from the age of 13 upwards, regardless of previous experience

The cost of the day is £20 and will include training in shooting/fencing/swimming and running (including the new Combined run/shoot format).

Among the coaches for the weekend will be Olympic team coaches, Olympic Medallists and other members of the Great Britain Modern Pentathlon team.

Schools Biathlon Closing Dates Extended posted by Skip Peacey on05-10-2009

Due to the effects of the postal strike, the closing dates for the following Schools Biathlon Competitions have been extended:

Q1 - Barnet Copthall

Q2 - Swansea

Q3 - Hexham

The new closing date is now WED 7th OCTOBER.

If you have any additional entries or are worried that your postal entry may have been caught in the recent strikes, please contact the office as soon as possible as no extensions or late entries past this new date can be accepted.
