We would like to announce the launch of our Summer Residential Training Camp at Rossall School, Lancashire!

When is the camp and who is it aimed at?

Our next residential camp is all set for the Summer holidays and we are ready to head up North to Rossall School.

The camp will run between the 14th and 17th August 2013 and will consist of Running, Swimming, Shooting, Fencing and Combined Event training. The camp will also include an introduction to strength and conditioning along with other master class workshops. The camps are open to athletes of all abilities from total novice to international athletes and are aimed at athletes aged 9 years and above. All shooting and fencing equipment is provided in the cost of the camp, along with full board accommodation, coaching and facility use.

What will you do?

Each day will consist of 1 - 1½ hours of Swimming, Running, Shooting, Fencing and Combined Event training which will be followed by a Master Class Session in the evening. The focus of the camp will be on improving technique and knowledge of each discipline. This will provide the basis for developing into an all round pentathlete allowing you to develop to your full potential in the future.

A valuable spin off from this camp is the opportunity to try to gain the Level 1 or Level 2 Modern Pentathlon Fencing Certificate. This will enable you to enter Tetrathlon and Modern Pentathlon events.

This camp will be our 18th Residential Training Camp. Our team of experienced and qualified coaches and chaperones are all very capable of looking after you and helping you get the most from your time on the camp.

The Coaches

Russell North – Lead Coach

Russell is a former member of the Great Britain Modern Pentathlon team and a Graduate of the University of Bath in Coach Education and Sports Development. Being one of only a handful of coaches in the world to have actually competed at the Combined Event at an international level, Russell truly has a unique CV. Due to this Russell knows what it takes to be an international athlete and is now keen to pass on this knowledge to the next generation of GB Pentathletes.

Ian Briggs - Pentathlon GB South Regional Fencing Coach

Ian has vast fencing experience and has worked with Pentathlon GB South for many years. Due to this Ian is used to working with Pentathletes and understands the demands of the sport. He is a very experienced fencing coach and is used to working with athletes of all levels, form beginners to International athletes.
